The whole foundation of research in Denmark is being undermined. This was the message from dissatisfied researchers when they handed in 2,252 signatures to politicians at the Danish parliament.
Hundredevis af forskere har fået nok. De vil have danske politikere til at nedsætte en kommission, der skal kulegrave forskningsfriheden. Nu ruller de en landsdækkende underskriftsindsamling ud.
If politicians do not put a stop to the »extreme top-down management« at universities, Danish research will suffer damage that it will take decades to rectify. The stark warning is from Ole Wæver and several of his colleagues who now present six proposals to reverse the downward spiral.
In a series of open letters, Ole Wæver and his colleague Barry Buzan are said to be behind »an orchestrated attack« and »a form of violence« after defending their academic work against racism charges. Wæver himself says that the criticism is full of misunderstandings and wild claims.
