Traditional Danish Christmas Dinner at Studenterhuset

The Traditional Danish Christmas Dinner is back at Studenterhuset, so if you have always wanted to experience how (most) Danes celebrate Christmas – or if you are far away from home and want some true Christmas spirit during the holidays – then this is your chance….

We are ready to spoil you with an afternoon of glögg and æbleskiver (Danish Christmas cakes and Christmas punch), some stories and fun facts about Christmas in Denmark – and we will of course be dancing around the Christmas tree too.

When the afternoon turns into night you will get a true Christmas feast – just like the Danes do it!

We will also do the Danish “Pakkeleg” (a game where you try the get the most presents by stealing them from the other guests… (don’t worry, we will introduce you to the rules), and there will also be plenty of time to just talk and meet new people.

The program for the night is:
–  At 15:00: Welcome + serving of Gløgg & Æbleskiver
– Around 16:00: You will get an introduction to the Danish Christmas traditions.
– Around 17:00: Get comfortable because we will be reading a Danish Christmas story
– At 18:30: Dinner is served – yay!
– Around 20:30: Pakkeleg + presents for everyone
– Around 21:30: Time to dance – we will be dancing around the Christmas Tree, and there will be lots of hygge afterwards too.
– At 23:00: Goodnight and thank you!

Remember to choose between “traditional Christmas Menu” or “Vegetarian Christmas Menu”, when you buy your ticket.

What’s included?
First serving of Gløgg and Æbleskiver, a traditional Danish Christmas Dinner with organic Roast Pork, Roast Duck, caramelized potatoes, boiled potatoes, salat of white cabbage, gravey, pickled red cabbage and redcurrant jelly. For the vegetarians there will be a mushroom and hazelnut “roast”
We know! It does sound a bit weird, but we promise that it’s very delicious. And there will of course also be a Christmas present at the Pakkeleg.
All drinks for the dinner must be purchaced at the bar.
