One University of Copenhagen department can be found in the village of Nødebo by the lake Esrum Sø, where Gribskov forest serves as a backyard. The beautiful surroundings are not your typical campus grounds.

One messed-up exam will not be your downfall. This is according to Karen Riskær Jørgensen, who helps pressured law students on to their next exam - and from university on to a job.

Foreign researchers and PhD students may now hold sideline jobs without having a separate work permit. It presupposes, however, that the job is related to their field of research. Employees on the Danish so-called pay limit scheme (for high salary contracts) are not, however, included.

Universities need to get a growing share of their funding for research themselves. And if you look at the list of the ten largest contributors, the researchers at the University of Copenhagen seem to be good at it.

The University of Copenhagen has (at least) one student who is studying now on his tenth year and who, according to himself, is getting a huge benefit out of it every time he goes on the fresher camp for new students. It works as therapy for new students, and for their tutors.
