The rector the University of Copenhagen has applied for and subsequently been offered a position as head of 4. Maj Kollegiet. This according to media outlet Fundats. Henrik Wegener says that he has time to take on the added responsibilities which he calls »a lifestyle« and that living among the students will make him a better rector.
About 2,700 new students were welcomed by UCPH rector and deans (and the University Post) at the Matriculation Ceremony last Friday. Our photographer was there too.
At the University of Copenhagen, employees with ‘manager’ job titles have, on average, received a significantly higher percentage wage increase than other employees. This can be seen in a calculation by the University Post on the basis of figures from Lønoverblik.dk. UCPH says the calculation is misleading.
It sparked quite some amusement at the law faculty in June when rain poured in through one of the skylights at Søndre Campus. Then, when rector Henrik Wegener visited on 19 September, things went downhill again.
When Rector Henrik C. Wegener gave his enrolling speech at UCPH, he encouraged Danish students to invite the internationals to a candle light dinner to introduce newcomers to Danish hygge.
Henrik C. Wegener has sat down in the rector’s chair in the office on Nørregade street. He will follow a big predecessor – and he has inherited a big problem.
