One third of all enquiries to the University of Copenhagen's student ambassador come from students with disabilities.

A majority in the Danish parliament has reached a new agreement that will send more students back to university 6 May. Higher education programmes will still open up slower than the rest of the education system however.

Life is slowly returning to the University of Copenhagen and a number of first-year students can now see each other in real life this week — for some it will be the first time.

The teaching quality of online classes is lower than in-person teaching, according to several studies. But this is not reflected in students' grades. Not surprising, says associate professor Sebastian Olden-Jørgensen.

Some students criticise the teaching materials on their Arabic language course. They are outdated and should portray a wider range of lifestyles in the Middle East, they say, and suggest adding a disclaimer to the textbooks, to remind the reader that they were written in a different era.

The University of Copenhagen has offered online courses since 2013. The demand for them has skyrocketed during the corona locked down 2020. Now the people behind the online courses want to extend them to the normal curricula.

While Denmark is reopening slowly, students at the country's higher education institutions still do not know when campuses will open again. »They have almost been forgotten in the public debate,« says interest group Universities Denmark. Virologist does not expect Danish universities back to normal until after the summer holidays.
