For the first time ever, new students at the University of Copenhagen were only welcomed digitally - via video. Four students followed the ceremony from their couch out in the suburbs.

Six additional students on the rhetoric programme at the University of Copenhagen are in self-quarantine. Faculty director 'certain' that more corona cases will be forthcoming, but ready to handle them.

The University of Copenhagen has just released guidelines for social events on campus with effect from the start of this semester. It will be a socially-distanced and truncated fall season.

Many international students withdrew their applications to the University of Copenhagen during the pandemic. »We can still maintain a good internationalisation of our study programmes,« university states.

One or more anonymous persons have allegedly attended instruction on the dentistry programme while infected with corona. They have threatened to show up to exams. The study programme’s management has informed the rest of the year cohort, but is still upholding exam schedules.

There is too much talk about Roskilde Festival and not enough talk about the students' economic problems and concerns for the future during the corona crisis, says Johan Hedegaard Jørgensen, Chairman of the National Union of Students in Denmark.

Vulnerable students have been allocated DKK 5 million in a coronavirus aid package. The money will not go far, according to the Student Council at the University of Copenhagen. The Student Counselling Service says however that the grant could benefit a lot of young people.

Scientists can most likely return to their labs in June, and study programmes will most likely reopen in August.
