A University of Copenhagen (UCPH) master's degree programme that was cut from the Faculty of Humanities has now been resurrected at the Faculty of Theology.
There are two big wooden boxes at South Campus. Each of them has approximately 50,000 bees living inside. Once a week an associate professor of theology collects their honey.
In the 17th century, the elite had whole books published about their deceased spouses and their exemplary lives. The books probably functioned both as a way to discipline the people, to do good business – and as a good round of gossip.
A group of theology students and staff are attempting to create awareness about why the German language is important for their subject. And they are using unconventional methods in the underground movement ‘Deutsch, bitte'.
Kirsten Busch Nielsen found her way to theology after a 'productive study crisis' and became the faculty’s first female dean. She wishes the next generation, like hers, had the same freedom to try a course of study before obligating themselves. Because you can’t align your expectations perfectly.
Here is a possible solution to all of those who miss the old university buildings in the inner city: Buy them. Price still unknown.
After 45 years in Købmagergade, The Faculty of Theology is moving out of central Copenhagen. But changes are never easy, resulting in a mix of nostalgia and excitement.
