Through concise case studies from researchers worldwide, the book illustrates the diverse and often unexpected ways social media enhance academic work, from building collaborative networks and expanding audience reach to creating real-world impact.
Social Media for Research Impact (Routledge, 2026) was written by Mike Young — founder of the course provider Mike Young Academy and an editor of the English-language University Post at the University of Copenhagen — and Marcel Bogers, a professor in the field of innovation management at Eindhoven University of Technology/UC Berkeley and formerly University of Copenhagen.
At this book launch we ask one question to five people with different areas of expertise and experience, before opening up to the audience.
What happens if we stop treating social media as a visibility tool and instead use it as a place for scholarly thinking — publicly, and in dialogue with others?
