BRIDGE – Translational Excellence Programme. A two-year postdoctoral training programme that aims to create a translational ecosystem by training and educating a cadre of translational fellows to drive translational and clinical research at the highest level, to improve the medical care, health and quality of life of patients.
The training and education provided during the two-year appointment to the BRIDGE – Translational Excellence Programme have been uniquely developed and planned to guarantee the best opportunities for the fellow to gain both academic knowledge and practical skills within the field of translational medicine.
The BRIDGE – Translational Excellence Programme is developed as a clear career path for applicants whose ambition is a career within research and for those wishing to become leaders in the field of translational medicine. Especially for Medical Doctors participation in the programme is an opportunity to pursuit a career within research.
Fellows will be educated and mentored as they perform research in the field of translational medicine. This will give them a thorough understanding of the scientific content of translational medicine, and they will acquire the knowledge and skills to be able to manage the essential collaboration between disciplines and to translate and back-translate between clinical and basic science. They will also be educated and trained to manage the essential collaboration between disciplines to ultimately better the health of patients.
To be eligible as a fellow, you should have a PhD in health and medical sciences or related areas. It is an advantage to have a background as a MD, as experiences and competences achieved during your education and training will be beneficial throughout the programme.
