This one-day symposium, co-hosted by CeBIL- Centre for Advanced Studies in Biomedical Innovation Law, Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen and RIBS – the Regulation and Innovation in the Biosciences, aims to address contemporaneous issues emerging in the field of biomedicine. Law profoundly shapes, limits, and enables the way that new biomedical technology advances.  This conference will consider cutting-edge legal developments in four broad biomedical areas of current interest: (1) the interaction between intellectual property, collaboration, and open science; (2) pricing and access to pharmaceuticals; (3) equity, inclusion, and bias in new technology, including big data and AI; and (4) technologies that alter reproduction and the human body.

Presenters will include leading legal scholars from across the United States and Europe, and could be relevant and interesting to legal practitioners, regulators and policymakers, biomedical scientists with an interest in law and policy, and anyone curious about how science is changing medicine and how the law is affecting that process.
