New IT technology has a crucial influence on conditions of production in the construction industry in modern times. Building Information Modelling (BIM) can be expected to transform the organization and collaboration around the carrying out of construction projects and create new possibilities for planning, designing, managing and operating built assets. However, this rapid evolution and the widespread use of digital instruments give rise to significant risks of conflicts and losses for the parties, in particular if the actual use of new instruments is not aligned with the legal framework of the project at hand. Some of the fundamental elements of the digital evolution will be presented at the conference. In particular, the legal significance of BIM will be investigated in relation to contract law, public procurement law and intellectual property law, and concrete questions related to the parties’ performance and liability in digital construction will be sought answered. The conference will bring together leading international experts and national Danish legal specialists.

The morning part of the program will be conducted in English.
