We exist in geographical space and thus it is no surprise that applications with spatial characteristics are among the most exciting in computing. We can now merge rich geospatial datasets from, e.g., drones, GPS devices, satellites, and sensors, impacting all the way from how we grow our food to how we play and connect. This talk explores resulting challenges to database systems through examples drawn from our recent and ongoing research in the Data Management Systems (DMS) group at DIKU.
The talk will be conducted in English
