In the context of the Theme Afternoons on Latin America, we are pleased to invite you to a Nicaraguan Cultural Evening, in which you will have the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful concert of the Nicaraguan songwriters Gaby Baca and Mafe Carrero and a beautiful poetic recital of Rubén Darío, in the voice of the poet Gorm Rasmussen.

Gaby and Mafe, are touring in Europe, in a self-managed music tour for Nicaragua, bringing the voices of the ones who stayed behind in Nicaragua. They sing for freedom, for happiness, hope and reconciliation.

They bring the message of all the people in Latin-American, but mainly the voices of women: ancestral voices that has been writing our history from long time ago, helping to reinforce the image of a warrior and emancipated woman.

Gaby and Mafe bring a fresh and powerful approach to rap and hip-hop, among the other genres they perform, such as cumbia, ballads and alternative rock, all in the beautiful Spanish Language.

Their themes are mostly about feminism, social justice, protection of nature and other matters regarding our everyday problems in the Latin American region. They both have their own styles, which complements very well with each other. They compose their own music and collaborate also with other musicians.

Gaby is also an artist, she paints and draws She is formal educated in Journalism and Marketing. She does stand-up comedy.

Mafe is a young woman just graduated from the University in Managua, from Industrial Design. She is part of the Central American feminist women movement, participating and creating space for women of all ages.

Note: You can taste traditional Nicaraguan food. The bar will be open in case you get thirsty.

En el contexto de las Tardes Temáticas sobre América Latina, nos complacemos en invitarte a una Tarde Cultural Nicaragüense, en la que tendrás la oportunidad de disfrutar de un maravilloso concierto de las canta autoras nicaragüenses Gaby Baca y Mafe Carrero y de un hermoso recital poético de Rubén Darío, en la voz del poeta Gorm Rasmussen.

Gaby y Mafe, están de gira musical autofinanciada por Europa, trayendo las voces de los que se quedaron en Nicaragua. Cantan por la libertad, por la felicidad, la esperanza y la reconciliación.

Traen el mensaje de todas las personas en Latinoamérica, pero principalmente las voces de mujeres: voces ancestrales que están escribiendo nuestra historia desde tiempos ancestrales, reforzando así la imagen de la mujer guerrera emancipada.

Gaby y Mafe aportan un enfoque fresco y poderoso de rap y hip-hop, entre los otros géneros que interpretan, como la cumbia, las baladas y el rock alternativo, en nuestra bella lengua castellana.

Sus temas son principalmente sobre el feminismo, la justicia social, la protección de la Naturaleza y otros aspectos relacionados con los problemas cotidianos que vivimos en la región latinoamericana. Ambas tienen sus propios estilos, que se complementan muy bien entre sí. Son canta-autoras y colaboran también con otros músicos.

Gaby es también artista, pinta y dibuja. Graduada en Periodismo y Marketing. Entre sus presentaciones realiza además stand-up comedy.

Mafe es una joven recién graduada de la Universidad de Managua, en Diseño Industrial. Es parte del movimiento de mujeres feministas centroamericanas, participando y creando espacios para mujeres de todas las edades.

Gorm Rasmussen, escritor y traductor danés Gorm Rasmussen nos presentará parte de su selección de poemas y prosas sobre la obra del príncipe de las letras castellana Rubén Darío publicadas en el año 2014, titulada “Rubén Darío i udvalg” (Rubén Darío, una selección) e poemas (Rubén Darío, una selección. Diciembre 2014, 274 p.).

Nota: Podrás degustar la deliciosa comida tradicional nicaragüense. El bar estará abierto por si te antoja tomar algo.
