Anne Louise Nielsen: The Elasticity of Spirit: Kierkegaard’s Theology?

Modern interpretations of Kierkegaard’s thinking tend to leave out his theology – and admittedly, theology is the embarrassing part in Kierkegaard. Rounded by the German idealism and a strong paradigm of consciousness, Kierkegaard’s “theology” builds on those premises, while at the same time taking a leave with the theology of “The Speculation”. In the light of theology, the lecture seeks to display the rather vague but highly interesting idea of a radical “elasticity of spirit”, as a way of individual existing, that dwells in Kierkegaard’s text.”
