The Masanga Project, IMCC Global (International Medical Cooperation Committee) and the School of Global Health at the University of Copenhagen invite all interested to join our annual symposium.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a wake-up call reminding us about the importance of a well-functioning comprehensive health system and the inter-dependencies of the global community as it relates to the spread of disease, supply chains and governance of health.
In some settings, health systems have been under immense pressure, stretched thin and even on the verge of collapse. In other places, the nature of the corona transmission, rapid policy decisions and strong institutions have allowed the health system to cope and adjust to the new realities.
This is not the first time we experience a worldwide crisis of this magnitude, and it will not be the last! So the question is: What have we learnt from previous crises and what will we learn from the current one in order to design robust health systems for the future?
Join us in the debate where our invited panel and audience will discuss two concrete dilemmas, we are witnessing at the moment:
Both discussions will take a point of departure in a low-income setting in Sierra Leone and Ethiopia, respectively, ending with wider discussions on global perspectives.
We encourage all to take part in the panel debates. Follow the news feed in the Facebook event and this website as we continuously announce the panelists and update the program.
